Vis: 20–30 ft (Scripps cam)
Swell: 2–3 ft @ 12–13s WNW
Water Temp: 62–64°F
Today’s water has taken on a very green, darker look, which is making fish harder to pick out despite what looks like solid visibility on paper. The Scripps Pier cam is still showing 20–30 ft, but the low light and color shift mean contrast is down—expect fish to blend into the background more than usual.
Large tide swings continue to be the main factor, with a lot of moving water between highs and lows and noticeable changes at shore entries. Conditions feel a bit “sleepy” underwater, and while visibility can open up, it’s not popping the way clearer blue days do.
Looking ahead, a storm is set to move in Tuesday night, with large surf and stormy conditions expected Wednesday, so today and tomorrow are likely the last manageable windows for a bit.
Reports from Point Loma suggest conditions are more inconsistent—some decent pockets still exist, but overall it’s more hit-or-miss compared to earlier in the week.
