Conditions are looking fair overall, but visibility remains a bit inconsistent. Most divers can expect 8–15 feet of visibility, with occasional pockets pushing closer to 15–20 feet in the Cove and other protected areas. More exposed kelp beds are likely to have lower visibility due to suspended particulate and the lingering south swell.

A 2–3 ft south/southwest swell is moving through the area, though La Jolla Cove stays relatively protected from that direction. Winds are light this morning, so surface conditions should remain calm with only minor texture developing later in the afternoon.

Overall, today is a worthwhile day to dive, especially if you stick to the more sheltered La Jolla sites. Visibility isn’t crystal clear yet, but calm surface conditions and warm water make for comfortable diving. If you’re hunting for the cleanest water, get in earlier in the day and stay inside the protected sections of the Cove.
