Visibility at La Jolla Shores is sitting around 8–12 feet today. The water remains green with a moderate amount of particulate matter, so don’t expect crystal-clear blue water, but conditions are still very diveable—especially if you get in early before the afternoon wind has a chance to mix things up. Protected areas are offering the best visibility today.

Surface conditions are about as calm as they get this morning. A small 1–2 ft swell with light west winds is producing an easy shore entry and very little surge throughout the cove and Shores. Water temperatures have warmed into the 70–72°Frange at the surface, although divers may still notice a cooler layer deeper down depending on depth and location.

Overall, today is a good day to get in the water if you don’t mind slightly hazy conditions. Expect calm entries, warm surface water, and fair visibility. An incoming afternoon high tide may provide a slight improvement in clarity later in the day, but the best window is still the morning before the wind builds. Dive safe!
