La Jolla is looking really clean this morning. We're seeing 20+ ft of viz and some pretty blue water. Keep in mind, though, that LJ is sheltered from the south swell, so this kind of visibility may be harder to find at other spots along the coast.
We've got a SW groundswell starting to build today, although swell is still pretty minimal now. That energy is expected to continue increasing toward a Sunday peak. Winds are staying very light and variable at 5 kts or less making for some nice surface conditions.
Showers are expected tonight into Sunday, bringing the potential for runoff and reduced water quality. If you're planning to dive this weekend, today is looking like the better window before the swell builds and rain moves in.
As always, dive safe!
