February 2026
The Cenotes of the Yucatan are some of the most unique, beautiful, and diverse dive sites you will ever experience. Not only are they warm and crystal clear, but they all have their own features and personalities which make each day a new experience.
Some of our own instructors will be in attendance, assisting the guides and instructors at Pranamaya Freediving. With decades of experience and contacts in this region, they are the most experienced and established organization in the region. They are also a ton of fun!
Every dive you have on this trip will be under the careful eyes of a professional instructor who is ensuring your safety, providing encouragement, and tips and tricks to make your dives easier and more enjoyable.
We will also have Nathan Minatta coming with us for all of your photography and videography needs. If you would like to purchase photos from him, videos, or even have him make an edit for you, you can do so at additional cost. This should be arranged ahead of time to make sure he is focusing on you throughout the trip.

Dates
March 1: Fly to Cancun, arrive at hotel in Playa del Carmen (flights and hotel not included). We have allocated $20/person for a shuttle. If some people arrive on different flights and we can't all get a shuttle together, that $20 will be refunded
March 2: Cenote Angelita. If you have seen pictures of an eerie looking underwater cloud with branches and logs rising up from it, this is the one!
March 3: Cenote Kin Ha. Located an hour away from the Pranamaya shop, this Cenote has 70m+ depth and is the site of their Azul Freediving Competition
March 4: Kaan Luum, or Laguna. One of the most famous Cenotes located just outside of Tulum, the warm murky layer at the surface gives way to beautiful water at 10-15m, giving views that feel like they're from Mars. As you keep going down, the fresh water turns to salt around 30m...and it gets dark
March 5: Chukum. This is a long day and well worth it. We will travel a few hours inland to this amazing Cenote located inside of a cave. Truly an otherworldly experience, and hopefully with the picturesque light beams!
March 6: Rest day to keep our ears and our immune systems happy. Possibility of setting up an offshore excursion to find bait balls with Sailfish feeding on them, but this is weather dependent and is not included in the trip.
March 7: Cozumel. We will take the ferry and enjoy the beautiful, warm ocean water of Cozumel, complete with reef diving, a shipwreck, and usually a submarine!
March 8: Mini Competition. We will goto Kin Ha again and have a mock competition, complete with multiple safety divers, the countdown to official top, white cards, the whole deal! This is a great way to get the feel for a competition, and go for a personal best!
March 9: Angelita or Kaan Luum
March 10: Transportation from Playa del Carmen to Cancun airport, then fly home. We have allocated $20/person for a shuttle. If some people arrive on different flights and we can't all get a shuttle together, that $20 will be refunded
Included:
Transportation and entrance fees for each Cenote, professional guides and instructors who will provide and set up your lines as well as safety and feedback for your dives. These people are legends, and they've spent years finding the best dive sites and building relationships with their owners.
Lunch will be provided by Pranamaya Freediving for all days except Chukum, where we will eat at an awesome local restaurant.
Photography. Our very own Nathan Minatta will accompany us and be snapping pictures and videos that capture the group experience. If you would like some personal photographs he will definitely be able to get those as well, and they will be available at an additional cost!
Not Included
Transportation from San Diego and back. We usually travel as a group and stay in the same hotel, so we will send out information on the best flights we have found, but if you would rather take a different flight that's fine too! Typically we fly out of Tijuana and get a shuttle from Cancun to Playa del Carmen
Accommodation. There is a hotel right next to the Pranamaya Freediving Shop with affordable and comfortable rooms that have one queen bed for 800 pesos per night ($47 USD). It's a 10-15 minute walk into town where all the restaurants and shops are.
Breakfasts and dinners will be on our own, though it's often fun to walk downtown and eat together or have a potluck on the rooftop patio of the hotel.
