Overview:
Do you love snorkeling but want to start venturing below the surface? If yes, then this is for you! You will learn the basics of freediving, including static breath holds, equalization, and diving techniques from a professional freediving instructor, and then get to immediately put those new skills into action as you explore the amazing sea life of Mission Point Park.
BASIC SWIMMING ABILITY IS REQUIRED! You will be wearing a buoyant wetsuit, but not life vests, and we will be moving around on the surface and below the surface of the water so you need to know how to swim! You also need to be comfortable in the ocean, as that is where this excursion takes place.
Itinerary:
We will meet at Mission Point Park at 7AM and get geared up. We will start with a short static breath hold session in the shallows where you will learn breath hold techniques that will improve your bottom time and surprise you with what you're capable of! After that we will kick out a little deeper test out some line diving, work on duck dives, and explore some of the local rocky reef. We will be done around 10AM.
Preparation:
Make sure you are well hydrated and rested! These both have a huge impact on your breath hold has well as your ability to clear your ears. It is a good amount of time in the water and you will need your energy!
Gear Required:
Wetsuit (A 5mm open cell spearfishing wetsuit is highly recommended)
