The Coronado Islands are an incredible location for beginner to advanced spearfishermen and women. The islands offer clear water, beautiful and lively reef structure, and a wide variety of reef and pelagic fish. The amount of life here, and the consistency with which we find it, is unmatched and well worth the trip. While the species are similar to San Diego diving, the conditions and the structure make if feel like a completely different world.
We will launch at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center behind the shop, and the trip is a little over an hour. The boat, Zenmar, is a 32' center console that is very stable, dry, and efficient. Trip typically runs from 7am-3pm (dependent on weather, water temperature, and fish activity).
Includes: Captain, biosphere permit, visa
Does not include: In water safety diver/guide, fish processing services, rental gear, water/snacks, tip for captain and crew (industry standard is 17-20%), or required documentation.
Required documentation: Passport, Mexican fishing license (~$15)
Divers must have completed a beginner freediving course and have a CA fishing license.
