Trip Overview

For the first time ever, we've brought together Salty Surf Housings, Deep Blue EcoTours, and our very own Just Get Wet to provide you with a seasoned team of expert instructors, underwater image-makers, and safety professionals. You’ll train, explore, and create in some of the most beautiful waters in Hawai‘i.

Freediving with Gretchen Beehler of Just Get Wet:

Under the guidance of ocean creative, Gretchen Beehler, you’ll build confidence, calmness, and efficiency in the water. You’ll learn breathework and relaxation techniques, equalization, and depth-diving skills all tailored for divers working with an underwater camera. Gretchen’s instruction emphasizes calm, controlled movement and ocean awareness so you can excel both as a diver and as an underwater photographer.

Underwater Photography with Kate Powell  of Salty Surf Housings:

Learn how to create compelling, intentional images in the ocean with underwater photographer Kate Powell. You’ll practice capturing wildlife in motion, reading animal behavior, and positioning yourself respectfully and safely in open-water environments. Kate will guide you through natural-light shooting, creative composition, and building an editing workflow that reflects your personal style. Whether you want to shoot big pelagic animals or the subtleties of reef life, this is a unique opportunity to experiment and develop your voice as a photographer.

Hands-On Gear Experience:

Throughout the trip, you’ll have access to Salty’s newest underwater housings and the opportunity to test out different camera systems to see what feels best in your hands.

Thanks to support from Nikon Australia and George’s Cameras, all participants will have access to underwater housings, cameras, and lenses at no additional cost. No camera? No problem—you can join the trip without owning your own setup.

Available gear includes:
• Nikon Z6III + 14–30mm f/4
• Fujifilm X100VI

Cage-Free Shark Diving with Cal Morse of Deep Blue Eco-Tours:

Alongside shark expert Cal Morse and the highly trained Deep Blue EcoTours team, you’ll experience one of O‘ahu’s most iconic ocean encounters: respectful, cage-free diving with pelagic sharks. You’ll learn shark body language, practice calm and controlled movements around large marine animals, and have the chance to photograph these incredible creatures in their natural blue-water environment.

we're

[Not] a cult

We're not your average dive community/brand; we are a familiy of fools, built on grown friendships and shenigans. We keep it safe, but keep it fun. We are a group where you will be accepted just as you are. Welcome in.

About us

Passion project turned into running a business; funny how things work out. We have no idea what we are doing, but we know how to dive and we love the ocean; faking it 'till we make it!

What is
Diveviz

Our sister company DiveViz is the OG passion project. We created an app that brings you underwater dive forecasts and reports. Find dive sites, know the conditions and leave reports. See... we have a professional side to us!
